Juanita Hickernell

Juanita Hickernell, age 90, of Meadville passed away peacefully, with family by her side at Meadville Medical Center on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. She was born on February 13, 1930 in Conneautville Pa, to the late Urson M. and Doris V. (Stanford) Shellito. On December 18, 1973 she married Max Hickernell.

Juanita graduated from Conneautville High School in 1948 and attended two years of business school in Sharon. She worked for various offices in the Sharon area and then worked at Talon in Meadville. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper.

Juanita was of Christian faith. She enjoyed reading, traveling to Florida, playing cards and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Max (Malcolm) E. Hickernell;  three daughters, Connie Lowery and her husband, Mark of Volant, PA, Debbie Simonek of Greenville, TX and Linda Bookamer and her husband,Tom of Meadville, PA;  one son, Daniel E. Hickernell of Meadville, PA; one sister, Judy Greenawalt of Chapel Hill, NC;  twelve grandchildren; Tom Bookamer II, Theodore Bookamer, Jesse Bookamer, Billie Wolfe, Maxine Bookamer, Michael Bookamer, Vicki Buttray, Robert Hoffman, Joseph Hoffman, Jacob Lowry, Brandi Lowry, and Holly McAllister.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother in law, John Greenawalt.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 4PM until 7PM at Dickson Funeral Home, 130 N. 2 ^nd St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.  A service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, February 24 ^th at 11AM with Pastor Phillip Thomas officiating.  Burial will immediately follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
