Judith Newman

Judith Newman, age 78, of Lincoln Ave., Meadville, PA passed away suddenly at Meadville Medical Center on Monday January 23, 2023.  She was born on October 17, 1944 in Adamsville, PA to the late Eldon L. and Edyth (Litwiller) King.

Judy graduated from Linesville-Conneaut-Summit High School.  She worked as a housekeeper at Meadville Medical Center for 20 years.  After her retirement from the hospital, she worked as a housekeeper for the last 17 years at Mayor Lord’s House Bed and Breakfast in Meadville.

Judy was a social member of Saegertown American Legion and VFW Post #2006.  She was an avid camper.  She loved gardening-especially her flowers.  She also enjoyed playing board games and cornhole and doing crossword puzzles.  She was a great baker and was known for her homemade caramel popcorn.  Judy was also a dog lover.

Judy is survived by her significant other, Robert Alexander of Meadville, PA; her daughters, Sharon Artman (Eric) of Melbourne, FL and Karen Smock (Robert Smith) of Cochranton, PA; her grandchildren, Justin Ramsey (Amanda), Danielle Ramsey and Josh Smock; great-grandchildren, Liam Ramsey, Corie Siders, Jaelyn Siders and Legend Price and her siblings, Marilyn Hassink, Sharon Shrock (Eli), Becky Mowris(Burnie), Diane Carpenter, Cynthia Jimenez (Hector), Linda King and Paul King and her beloved dog, Sienna.

She was preceded in death by parents; her former spouses, Dick Wood, Milton “Junior” Starcher and Sherman Newman; her brother, Robert King and her sister, Lynette Spencer.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday January 27, 2023 from 3-6 pm at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335.  A private burial will take place at Greendale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 E. 10 ^th St., Erie, PA 16511.
