June Marie Black Kennedy Murray

June Marie Black, Kennedy, Murray, age 90, of Meadville, left this world for a better one, on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Meadville Medical Center. She was born, at home, in Meadville May 15, 1925, a daughter of Lyle Black and Dorothy LeFever (Black). June married Richard Kennedy in 1947; and subsequently married Jay C. Murray in 1964. Jay preceded her in death , April 23, 2008. She graduated from Meadville High School in 1943. June loved the outdoors and enjoyed walking in the woods, camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, and riding her motorcycle with Jay. June enjoyed traveling and did extensively. She also enjoyed crafts of all kinds. June retired from the City of Meadville after 20 years; worked for the Montgomery Ward Company ; the G. C. Murphy Company; Talon Plants #5 and #9; Crago Ford (during WW II); Meadville Distillery; Yeager Shoe Repair ; and the American Viscose Co. for 3 years. She was a life member of the Golden Crown Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star; a Past Matron of the Allegheny Court, Order of the Amaranth; and Past Patron of the Trinity Shrine, OWSJ; Past Worthy High Priestess and Past Watchman of Shepards. She was also a member of the Lunch Bunch; the Sweet Violets Red Hats. June was formerly a member of the Bethany Methodist Church. June Murray is survived by a stepdaughter Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Infield of Townville; a granddaughter Sherri (Daniel) Patterson; great grandchildren: Kyle Patterson and Maya Patterson: all of Clarion. She is also survived by special cousins: Kenneth Barstow and Judith E. Coon She was preceded in death by: a brother Kenneth Black. Calling hours will be held at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville on Tuesday June 30, 2015 from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 2 PM. An Order of the Eastern Star Service will also be held. Interment in Greendale Cemetery will be private. June suggested that Memorials be made to the Bethany Methodist Church 140 Wadsworth Avenue Meadville 16335 or the Crawford County Humane Society 11012 Mercer Pike, Meadville 16335.
