Karen Steele

Karen Ruth Steele, age 70, of Meadville, PA, passed away at Meadville Medical Center on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.  She was born on June 28, 1951 to the late James T. Warren Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth (Monpere) Warren.

Karen married Mark R. Steele on May 31, 1985.  He preceded her in death on October 26, 2002.  Karen received a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Edinboro University.  She worked at Bethesda Children’s Home for 13 years as a cook in food services and was a member of Living Waters Church.

Karen is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Young of Las Vegas, NV; a son, Stephen Young of Meadville, PA; 2 grandchildren, Thomas and Alexander Young; 2 sisters, Nancy Beiter and her husband, Russell of Cochranton, PA and Shirley Simons and her husband ,Merton of Conneautville, PA and 1 brother, Dr. James Warren and his wife, Heron of Erie, PA.  She is also survived by her Jack Russel, “Baby”.

Karen is preceded in death by her husband, Mark; her parents; her son, Thomas Young and a sister, Marilyn Stafford.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 11AM until Noon at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St. Meadville, PA 16335. The funeral will follow beginning at noon.
