Karen Etta Swienski

Karen E. Swienski, 76, of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away on September 11, 2018.  She was born on August 11, 1942 to the late Woodrow J. Fultz and Vivian Ewing in Meadville, PA. Karen married Edward Swienski on Flag Day, June 14, 1969 so they could see the flags flying on their anniversaries. He survives. Karen was a 1961 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School.  She went on to graduate from John Robert Powers Modeling School and Agency in Pittsburgh, PA.  She worked at Erie Technological Products until the factory closed and then she worked for JC Penny for 28 years before retiring. Karen was known for her gentle spirit.  She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Conneaut Lake Red Hat Society, the Domino Dollies, she was an avid reader, enjoyed adult coloring, visiting cats at the Humane Society, doing needle point and traveling.  She frequently visited France with her friend Nora.  She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Edward Swienski of Conneaut Lake; two sisters, Anna Marie (Rick) Houck of Meadville, Etta Dixon of Meadville, two brothers, David (Joi) Fultz of Townville and Guy (Kimberly) Fultz of Townville.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and her American short hair cat, Zoey, a sister-in-law Susan (Neil) Shea of Fairview and her lifelong friend Delores Baker.  She was preceded in death by her father Woodrow and step-mother Lois Fultz and her mother Vivian and step-father Larry Glowacki and two brothers-in-law Russel Swienski and John Dixon. Friends and family are invited to call on Friday, September 14 from 11-1 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church of Conneaut Lake, PA.  A service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Russ Hixson officiating.  Burial will be at 4:00 p.m. in Kingsley Cemetery in Townville, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Rd., Meadville, PA.
