Kenneth M. "Shorty" Hall, age 82, of Meadville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Edinboro Manor. He was born January 19, 1931 in Crawford County, PA, the son of the late Lloyd and Violet (Phillips) Hall. He married Glenna Brown in l955. She preceded him in death in 1999. He had been employed for 40 years with Erie Lackawanna Railway which later became ConRail. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Meadville Eagles Club, the Meadville Club, and the ICC. He loved music, playing the guitar, and horses. He enjoyed farming and was a coin collector. He is survived by two daughters, Kendra Hall Smith-DeRoss and her companion, Curtis Mook of Meadville, PA, and Vicky Hall Acker and her husband, Paul of Albemarle, North Carolina, three sons, Gary Brown and his wife, Debra of Meadville, PA, Daniel Hall and his wife, April of Meadville, PA, Brian Hall and his wife, Tammy of Oil City, PA; 11 grandchildren, Cheryl Whitmore and her husband, Rusty, Jake Smith and his wife, Kristen, Larry Acker and his wife, Autumn, Anita Acker, Julie Coley and her husband, P.J., Daniel Hall and his wife Sandy, Jeff Marranconi and his wife, Kelly, Sara Gilson, Jimmy Myers and his wife Wendy, Morgan Hall and Jordan Hall; a brother, James Hall and his wife Sandy. He is further survived by 15 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Laverne Hall of Union City, PA, and Walter Hall of Meadville, PA. Family and friends are welcome to call from 12 noon until 2:00 PM on Thursday at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor David Brumagin, of the Meadville Medical Center Pastoral Care officiating.
