Kenneth "Chuck" Hans, Jr.

Charles “Chuck” Hans Jr., age 71, of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away on Sunday September 19, 2021 at Meadville Medical Center after extended health complications. He was born on June 5, 1950 in Meadville, PA to the late Kenneth and Anna “Sweetie” (Hetrick) Hans. Chuck married Anita S. Free on May 23, 1970. She survives.

Chuck was a 1969 graduate of Saegertown High School. After graduation he held multiple positions within the steel industry.

He was of Methodist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandkids. He also enjoyed coaching little league baseball, wrestling and high school football.  He was a former member of the Conneaut Lake Athletic Association and the Conneaut Lake Wrestling Club.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 51 years, Anita; two sons, John C. Hans and his wife, Kate of Conneaut Lake, PA and Jeffrey K. Hans and his wife, Nicole of Conneaut Lake, PA; five grandchildren, Grace, Ella, Luke, Laney and Jake; his sister, Judy Jobe and her husband, Lynn of Saegertown, PA and their children, Michael Jobe and Michele Little; his brother, Scott Hans and his wife, Becky of Evans City, PA and their children, Cori O’Laughlin and Erica Hans; his sister-in-law, Mary Young and her husband, James and their children, Lisa Dixon and Lori Huber; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Free and several great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; a special aunt and uncle, Beverly and Bob Smyers; his in-laws, John and Ardith Free; his brother-in-law, Ed Free and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Chuck’s family will greet family and friends for a Celebration of Life from 11am- 1pm on Saturday September 25, 2021 with a brief service at 1:00 pm at Monsignor Toland Park, 54704 Alter Rd. Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.  All are invited to join the family for lunch following the service.   Please wear casual attire.
