Kennth Leroy Smith Sr.

Kenneth Leroy Smith Sr., age 83 of Atlantic, PA, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at his residence. Kenneth was born on August 5, 1929 in Dubois, PA, the son of the late Luella Smith. He married Janet Elaine Hanstine on April 18, 1952. He retired from Erie Tool & Forge in Springboro, PA. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving from October 17, 1952 to September 22, 1954, with active duty in the Korean War. He held the Rank of Corporal. He collected Eagles. He loved fishing, hunting and playing poker. He had been a member of the Meadville Eagles Club and the Polish Club in Meadville, PA. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janet E. Smith of Atlantic, PA., three daughters, Linda Smalley and her husband, Stephen of Jerome, Idaho, Robin Andrew of Atlantic, PA, and Susan Acel and her husband, Kenneth of Titusville, PA; three sons, Kenneth Smith Jr. and his wife, Cathy of Pasco, Washington, Shawn Smith and his companion, Brenda Hollabaugh of Meadville, PA., and Cameron Doggett of Atlantic, PA; 18 grandchildren, Jasmine, Misti, Kenneth III, Susie, Bryan, Joe, Amanda, Adam, Shannon, Tanya, Shane, Danny, Dennis, Brenda, Vicky, Trinity, Tony, and Terry Jr.; many great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one sister, Bertha Fox of Punxsutawney, PA; Further survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, Luella Smith, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Rapple, four brothers, Dan Bush, James Bush, Jesse Bush; three sisters, Orpha, Margaret, and Teen. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
