Larry E. Smith, age 75 of Conneaut Lake and formerly of Andover, Ohio went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness on November 20, 2013 at Meadville Medical Center. He was born July 22, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of the late Harold and Mary (Parker) Smith. He married Sharon Rae Bollinger on November 12, 1967. She survives. He was a 1956 graduate of State College High School and had attended Penn State University. He was a sales representative with George Worthington Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. He then owned and operated Cole Hardware Store in Andover, Ohio then retired from Carter Lumber in Austinburg, Ohio He was a veteran of the United States Army having been stationed in Germany. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Conneaut Lake, PA. He was a past member of the Kiwanis Club. He loved being outside, and loved to "tinker". He enjoyed the time he spent riding his Ford Diesel tractor. He especially loved the time he spent with his family and friends. He never lost his sense of humor. In addition to his wife, Sharon Rae Smith of Conneaut Lake, Pa he is survived by two daughters, Kerry Lautanen and her husband Danny of Espyville, PA., and Kristin Abbott and her husband Tom of Conneaut Lake, PA; six grandchildren, Lauren Queale, Kyle Abbott, Krista Abbott, Michelle Lautanen, Jake Lautanen and Matt Lautanen; four great grandchildren, Ethan, Eric, Kymani, and Ryan, a brother, William C. Smith and his wife, Sigrid of Andover, Ohio. Jacki, Rod and Jenny and other nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, and his mother-in-law, Carmen Bollinger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Smith. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 3 PM at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 240 North Third Street, Conneaut Lake, Pa 16316, and are welcome to attend the Memorial service at 3 PM with Rev. Jay Sterling and Pastor David Brumagin and the Rev. Skip Green officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 240 North Third Street, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.
