Laurie Jean Johnson, age 49, of Conneautville, passed away on Sunday December 20, 2015, at the Meadville Medical Center. She was born on April 16, 1966 at Meadville, the daughter of Glade and Jean (Smith) Johnson; Glade and Jean Survive. Laurie was married to Theodore Thomas Chechak Jr. for 27 years; Ted also survives. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her children, and spending time with her family. Even during and after a victorious seven year battle with cancer, she always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She was a caring, selfless, supportive woman, who deeply impacted the lives of everyone she met. A child at heart, she never failed to see the beauty in the world; but was strong and brave enough to lead her family through any obstacle. She never took a single day for granted, and although it was sudden and unexpected, she never feared her call home to be with her Lord, and with those who have preceded her. Her family finds comfort in the fact that she is no longer in pain, and in knowing that she will always be watching from above. Surviving Laurie Jean Johnson, in addition to her parents and husband, are: 2 daughters, Katelin J. Chechak of Meadville, and Cherish C. Chechak of Conneautville; and a son Theodore Chechak III of Meadville. She is also survived by 2 sisters: Stacey Johnson of Springboro and Carrie Gainor (Dan) of Florida, and 1 brother Arthur Johnson of Conneautville; and nephews: Chad and Jerod Johnson, as well as many other loved ones. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 6PM to 8 PM, at the Dickson Funeral Home 130 North Second Street Conneaut Lake; a funeral service will be held at 8 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Marshall S. Lillie, Pastor of the Conneautville Valley Church of the Nazarene, officiating. A private interment will follow, at Beaver Center Cemetery. The funeral arrangements for Laurie Jean Johnson have been entrusted to the Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 N. Second Street, Conneaut Lake, Rocco R. Tedesco III, Supervisor.
