Lavaida "Vay" R. Cooper age 79 of Meadville, PA passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Marquette Hospice House. She was born December 13, 1935 in Vernon Township, PA the daughter to the late Joseph G. and Elva L. Hanes Percy. She had been employed as a supervisor with Spaudlings for 27 years and then retired from Andover Industries after 10 years of service. She was a member of the Saegertown United Methodist Church. Vay is survived by a son; Chad S. Morrow of Greensboro, North Carolina, two grandsons; Colton Morrow and Dustin Morrow both of North Carolina, two step-grandsons; Danny Kearns of Texas and Timmy Kearns of Meadville, PA, two brothers: Edgar L. Percy and his wife, Genevieve of Conneautville, PA and Donald R. Percy of Saegertown, PA. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Vay was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne E. Percy, a sister; Dolores Bailly and a half sister; Evelyn Picard. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Calvin Han and to Nurse Jolene for the special care given to Vay. Family and Friends are welcome to call on Saturday from 11 AM until 1 PM at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville PA. All are welcome to the funeral service at 1 PM at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, with the Rev. Darrell Greenawalt, pastor of Saegertown United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
