Jamestown, PA

In loving memory of Leo Waskowiak, who passed away peacefully at his home on October 25, 2026, surrounded by the comforting presence of his cherished family. Born on June 3, 1949, in Pittsburgh, PA, Leo’s life was a testament to kindness, curiosity and unwavering devotion to his loved ones.

Leo was the beloved son of the late Leo and Bernette Waskowiak. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Barbara, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of love and laughter. Their union, which began on April 17, 1997, in Derry, PA, was blessed with the joy of raising their daughter, Kristaana, and the delight of their granddaughter, Rayne, both of whom reside in Jamestown, PA. His sister, Patricia Waskowiak, who lives in Cannonsburg, PA, also carries forward his legacy of love.

A proud graduate of Connelly High School in Pittsburgh, Leo’s passion for technology led him to a career as a repairman as TVs and VCRs, and later as a computer technician. His professional journey culminated at Conroy Education Center, where he worked as a para-professional until his retirement in 2011. Upon retiring, Leo and Barbara moved to the serene Pymatuning area, where he found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Leo’s love for nature was evident in his hobbies. He was a gifted gardener, known for pollinating daylilies and nurturing a variety of plants. His fascination with the aquatic world was fulfilled through his long-standing membership with the Greater Pittsburgh Aquarium Society, where he shared his enthusiasm for raising tropical fish. An avid fisherman, he spent many peaceful hours on Pymatuning Lake, casting lines and enjoying the tranquility of the water.

Not only was Leo a skilled craftsman, creating beautiful jewelry for his family, but he was also a culinary artist, delighting friends and family with his delicious home-cooked meals. His passion for sports was unmatched, and he was a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Steelers, rarely missing a game.

A man of faith, Leo was an active member of the Andover Christian Church, where he was known for his insightful Bible studies and spiritual guidance. His quick wit, kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Leo’s ability to connect with others and his eagerness to share his knowledge enriched the lives of many.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Meadville Medical Center, St. Vincent Hospital, Wesbury and Dr. Ryan Evans and his team for their compassionate care during the past few months.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to a charity of your choice in Leo’s honor.

Leo’s gentle spirit and the love he shared will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
