Lillian N. Beatty, 75, of Meadville, died March 19, 2015 at home, after a period of declining health. Lillian was born in Pittsburgh on November 19, 1939, a daughter of the late Augustine and Helen (Gumelia) Kalup. Lillian was a graduate of the Meadville High School, Class of 1957. She earned an associates degree in Medical Technology from Case Western Reserve University, in Ohio. On November 18, 1989, she married James S. Beatty; he survives. Lillian worked at several hospitals including Greenville, Franklin, Titusville, and Meadville (from where she retired). She was a member of Saint Mary of Grace Catholic Church, Meadville, where she was active with Care and Concern, crocheting and knitting Christening blankets, hats, and other items for parishioners and friends. Lillian enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, sewing, needlepoint, and playing Bridge. She and her husband owned and operated Fountainside Bed and Breakfast until she became ill with cancer and began a period of declining health. She was a past, social member of VFW Post 2006 and West Mead #2 VFD. Lillian is survived by her husband; James, a brother Augustine Kalup of Meadville; a son Jeffrey of Corning, N.Y.; two daughters: Laura Bevacqua (Kevin) of Baltimore, and Holly Yoder of Washington, PA; also four step-children: Kimberly Jewell (Michael); Scott Beatty (Marty); Amy Siple (Todd); and Matthew Beatty. Also surviving are two grandchildren: Austin and Anna Holbrook of Corning, N.Y.: eight step-grandchildren: Bridgette and Ryan Jewel; Clayton and Hannah Beatty; Nate, Jesse, Rebecca, and Stevie Siple; and one step great granddaughter:Vada Siple; also several nieces and nephews and cousins. Lillian's family would like to acknowledge the care provided by Ascera Care Hospice. A memorial mass will be offered by the Reverend Father Matthew Kujawinski, on Monday March 23, 2015 at 10 AM, at St. Mary of Grace Catholic Church, 1085 Water Street, Meadville. A luncheon will follow in St. Mary of Grace Center.
