Lloyd Gerber

November 25, 1935 — May 23, 2017

            Lloyd Gerber, age 81 of Hartstown, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.             He was born November 25, 1935 in Rolfe, IA. the son of the late Valentine Gerber and Emma Gerber.  He married Phyllis Gerber on May 4, 1959.  She survives.             He attended East Fallowfield Elementary and Jamestown High School.  He was a partner with his brother Marvin at their farm.  After retiring he was self-employed as a log truck driver and was the owner of Gerber’s H & T.             Lloyd was a member of the Sunnyside Mennonite Church. He enjoyed guitar playing. Playing and listening to Blue Grass, playing the harmonica. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling with his family. He was very fond of his work.             He is survived by his wife: Phyllis Gerber of Hartstown, two daughters: Patricia Greathouse and her husband Gary of Hadley, Andrea Pizer and her husband Lee of Hadley, two sons: Joseph Gerber and his companion Darlene Gothard of Cochranton, and Matthew Gerber and his wife Amy of California State, two grandchildren: Brandon Laudenslager of Hadley and Chelsea Hart and her husband Bryan of Cochranton, and one great-granddaughter, Kendra Hart, one brother: Kenneth Gerber and his wife Isabel of Hartstown.  He is further survived by several nieces and nephews.             In addition to his parents, Lloyd is preceded in death by a daughter: Pamela Gerber, a sister: Florence Egli and two brothers: Mervin Gerber and Melvin Gerber and sister-in-law; Bernice Gerber and a brother-in-law: Sam Egli.             Family and friends are welcome to call at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church, Foust Road, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316, on Monday, May 29, 2017 from 10 AM until the time of the service at 12 noon, with Pastor Russ Richardson, officiating.  Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery.             Memorials can be made to the MCC Meat Canning.             Please sign Lloyds’s online guestbook at hatheway-tedesco.com             Arrangements have been entrusted to the DICKSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, ROCCO R.
