Lois D. Amos

October 8, 1950 — September 19, 2021

Lois D. Amos, age 70, of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away on September 19, 2021 at Meadville Medical Center due to complications of COVID.  She was born on October 8, 1950 in Geneva, PA to the late Edgar and Ruth (Smock) Burnheimer.  She married Richard Amos on October 5, 1968.  He survives.

Lois was a 1968 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School.  She was a homemaker who opened her doors for over 40 years to babysit children. Her hobbies included her love to sew, quilt, bake and spending time with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She enjoyed doing alterations and recently worked for Melissa’s Alterations in Meadville. She played a major part in organizing her class reunion, picnics and luncheons for the class of 1968. She was a very active member of the Fallowfield United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband of 52 years, Richard, Lois is survived by two daughters, Lori Walls and her husband, Ken of Geneva, PA and Cheryl Sweitzer and her husband, Gene of Meadville, PA; 3 grandchildren, Megan Nelles and her husband, Craig, Paige Sweitzer and Jenna George and her husband, Branden; 3 great grandchildren, Hayden Sweitzer, Nova Nelles and Ruger George; one sister, Carole Burnheimer, one brother, Ron Burnheimer of Norristown, PA and one brother-in-law, Don Bauer of Cochranton, PA and several nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ruth “Dolly” Williams and Linda Bauer, a brother-in-law, Lyle Williams and nephew Jeffery Burnheimer.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday September 22, 2021 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 N. 2 nd St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.  The service will take place on Thursday September 23, 2021 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Reverend Les Hutchins of Fallowfield United Methodist Church officiating. Burial at Geneva Memorial Cemetery with a dinner at Faith United Methodist Church to immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Fallowfield United Methodist Church, 3993 Leach Rd., Atlantic, PA 16111.
