Lois Briggs

Lois Ann (Kindervater) Briggs, age 92, of Saegertown, PA, formerly of Meadville, PA passed away March 28, 2021.  She was born on November 4, 1928 to the late Roy E. and Margaret G. (Urquhart) Kindervater.  She married Charles Richard “Dick” Briggs on September 17, 1949.  He preceded her in death on June 7, 2002.

Lois attended Randolph School.  She earned her Registered Nursing certificates at Meadville City Hospital.  She worked as an RN at Polk and at the County Home with Dr. Brooks.  She also did hairdressing and was a homemaker.

Lois was a member of Emmanuel Church.  She was also a member of Eagles Auxiliary and East Mead VFD.   Lois enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, canning and fishing and enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit her granddaughter, Tracey.

She is survived by four sisters, Margaret “Buddy” Kindervater of Saegertown, PA, Carol Humes of East Mead, Eleanor Anwer of Meadville, PA and Emily Johnston of Meadville, PA; sister-in-law, Audrey Kindervater of Saegertown, PA; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and long-time, son-like friend and caregiver, Doug Price of Meadville, PA.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Russell E. Briggs; her daughter, Susan Lambert; brothers, Edward Kindervater, Richard Kindervater and Jack Kindervater; sister, Marilyn Kindervater and brother-in-law, Richard Humes.

Due to COVID, a church service will be held at a later date.
