M. Dorothy Durney

Dorothy Durney, age 82, of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 1, 2021 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born on February 12, 1939 in Meadville, PA to the late Ivan and Helen (Allen) Burchfield.

Dorothy graduated from Conneaut Lake High School.  She earned her teaching degree from Edinboro University School of Teaching.  She taught for over 30 years at Second District School prior to retiring.

She enjoyed golfing, gardening and wildlife, especially birds.  She also loved spending time with her family and pets.

Dorothy is survived by her son, William Durney of Erie, PA; her granddaughter, Holly Bond of Conneaut Lake, PA; her grandson, Colton Bond of Erie, PA; her great grandson, Keegan Wood; her great granddaughter, Dakota Bond and her close family friend, Angela Borges of MA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald and Charles Burchfield; her sister, Clara Freund; her daughter, Michelle Bond and her granddaughter, Ashley Bond.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday December 6, 2021 from 4-6 pm at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 N. 2 ^nd St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.  A memorial service will take place at 6 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Hasenkopf officiating.
