Margaret A. Lyons

Margaret Ferris Lyons of Meadville, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at her residence with her family by her side.  Margaret was born in Meadville on August 3, 1926 to parents John Ferris and Helen Saber Ferris.  She married Ralph W. Lyons, Sr. in September of 1955.  He preceded her in death on April 18, of 2005.   She attended St. Brigid’s School, later graduated then continued working at her family’s business, Ferris Brother’s Clothing Store on Water St. in Meadville.  She also worked for Bell Telephone Company as an operator.  She then owned and operated Marguerite’s Antiques for 45 years.  She was a lifetime member of St. Brigid’s Roman Catholic Church, a member of the Altar Rosary Society and enjoyed attending church card parties.  She loved animals and was known for her great Mae West Impression, “come up and see me some time big boy”.  She loved the Lord and was filled with the fruit of the Holy Spirit.  She loved her family and always made time for all of her children. She was a kind, gentle and patient person, who found good in everyone. Margaret was dearly loved and will be missed by many.             Survivors include three Daughter’s; Carla Peterson and husband Joseph of Boise, ID, Jeannine Lyons of Meadville, and Joyce Lyons Uplinger of Meadville, four Son’s; Ralph Lyons Jr. of Boise ID, John Lyons of Conneaut Lake, and Jeffrey Lyons of Meadville, thirteen Grandchildren; Steve Peterson, Sean Lyons, John Lyons, Jennifer Lyons, Jaclyn Lyons, Jared Lyons, Jonathan Lyons, Jordan Lyons, Brandy Swogger, Aaron Uplinger, Christina Uplinger, Alexis Uplinger, and Brittany Uplinger, including eight Great-Grandchildren and one Brother Thomas Ferris and his wife Aneesa of Pittsburgh.             She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son James Lyons and a brother Maurice Ferris.             Calling hours will be on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM, and on Saturday November 19, 2016, beginning at 10:00AM at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home until we process to a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at noon at St. Brigid’s Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch Street, Meadville, PA 16335, with Reverend Father Tom Trocchio, Pastor of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, officiating.
