Margaret Arlean Mattocks, 82, of Titusville, PA passed away on August 16, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her family. Margaret was born on December 15, 1935 in Meadville, PA to the late, Frank Curry and Margaret (Cronin) Curry. She married Gerald E. Mattocks on July 31, 1955. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2017. Margaret served as the director of Meals on Wheels and Retired Senior Volunteer Program for many years. As the director she was elected to many local, state and national projects. These included two years as representative to Region 3 National Meals on Wheels program, which covered five states and Washington, DC. She was also elected president of the Pennsylvania RSVP in which she was chairperson and master of ceremonies for the 25th anniversary at the capital in Harrisburg. She was chairperson and master of ceremonies of the White House Conference on Aging and was active in Crawford County Community Council in which she served as President of Titusville Council. Governor Tom Ridge selected Margaret to be his representative at the National Conference and had the honor of having dinner with President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper. She was named the Who’s Who among women civic leaders in America by Dupont National Civic Endowment. Margaret’s greatest love was family and instilled that in her children. She loved to read and traveled at every opportunity. She is survived by a son, Robert Mattocks of Titusville, PA; three daughters, Debbie Norris and her husband, Alton of Sneads Ferry, NC, Brenda McCain and her husband, Charlie of Titusville, PA and Patricia Heighes and her husband, Raymond (Jim) of Pleasantville, PA. Nine grandchildren, Brad Schmader and his wife, Heather of Titusville, Jody Schmader of Titusville, Heather Schmader and her friend, Ronnie Feroz of Titusville, Rick McCain and his wife, Rebecca of Burleson, TX, Vanessa Titus and her husband, Travis of Titusville, Luke McCain and his friend, Renea of Titusville, Joel Norris and his wife, Renee of Sneads Ferry, NC, Jason Norris and his wife, Stefanie of Hampstead, NC, Jarrod Norris and his wife, Gabby of Sneads Ferry, NC; also 21 great grandchildren. One sister, Florence (Skip) Greiner and her husband, Robert of Lockport, NY. In addition to her parents, Frank and Margaret Curry, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gerald Mattocks and her brother, Charles Curry. Friends and Family are invited to call on Saturday, August 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, August 19 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory.
