Margaret McClure Anderhalt, 94, of Meadville, PA passed away, November 3, 2018 at Wesbury United Methodist Home. She was born September 13, 1924 in Lake Township, Mercer, PA to the late Charles McClure and Mabel (Marstellar) McClure. She married Martin Anderhalt in 1950, he preceded her in death. Peg was a 1942 graduate from Stoneboro, PA. She worked at Sharon Steel near the end of World War II as a fork truck operator. She then moved to Meadville to take a job at Bell Telephone as an operator. While her sons were in school she stayed home and became an accomplished seamstress. She worked at Mid Continental Telephone and Alltel in Meadville before retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Unitarian-Universalist Church of Meadville, PA. Peg enjoyed sewing, writing, painting with watercolors and crafts. She was a member of the Meadville Council on the Arts and Penn Writers. She is survived by two sons, Mark Anderhalt and his wife, Beth of Cochranton, PA and Bill Anderhalt and his fiancé, Wendy Lee of Escondido, CA; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Jenni Strader and her husband Bob and their children, Elijah and Cameron of Kingwood, TX, Stacy Richter and her husband Corey and their children, Mackenzie, Emma and Peighton of Meadville, PA, and Mark Monteforte and his wife, Brittney and their children, Brynn and Gianna of Conneaut Lake, PA; a sister-in-law, Dolores McClure of Mercer, PA; a sister-in-law, Loma McClure of Fredonia, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Peg was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers, Andrew McClure and Charles McClure. Per her wishes there will be no calling hours or service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peg’s name to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
