Margery Filegar

Mrs. Margery (Marge) Filegar, age 87, formerly of Meadville, PA passed away at Rolling Fields in Conneautville, PA on Tuesday  May 23, 2023.  She was born on October 30, 1935 in Meadville, PA to the late Richard and Julia (Coon) Truran Sr. She married John Q. Filegar on August 3, 1957. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2020.

Margery was a 1953 graduate of Meadville High School.  She worked at the former Baldwin and Welcome Co. in the office and she also worked as the manager at the former Plaza Card and Party Shoppe for 27 years, where she retired from in 2000.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Meadville, where she was a Deacon, an Elder, Sunday school teacher and was involved in women’s Bible study.  She also volunteered at the Meadville Medical Center as part of the auxiliary and the GFWC Meadville Woman’s Club. She loved to travel and attend her grandchildrens’ sports and activities.

She is survived by one son, Mark Filegar and his wife, Terry of Cambridge Springs, PA; one daughter, Pam Cronin and her husband, Al of Meadville, PA; five grandchildren, Tyler Cronin, Allison Cronin, Nathan Filegar, Ashlee Filegar and Justin Filegar; several great grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Kasbee of Cambridge Springs, PA and many cousins and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; her sister and brother-in-law, Louise and A. Wayne Mushrush; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard C. and Helen Truran Jr. and her brother-in law, Richard Kasbee.

Family and friends are invited to call at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335 on Saturday, May27, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM with Reverend Doctor Brian Jensen officiating. A private burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
