Marian Hickman

Marian L. Hickman, age 92, of Meadville, PA passed away on Thursday January 30, 2025 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born on March 3, 1932 in Meadville, PA to the late Forest and Bernice (Walls) Greathouse. She married Ralph Earl Hickman on May 30, 1954. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2007.

Marian was a member of Salon #318 8/40  and she served as Departmental Chapeu of Pennsylvania and various offices in the state and all offices and chairman in the local salon. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #111. She served as Western Vice President and Historian of the state of PA. She also served many times as District President, locally served many times as District President and locally served all offices and various chairmanships and a former member of Rebecca’s Golden Rule #198 and was a past noble of the order.

She is survived by her children, Richard Hickman and his wife, Iona, Patricia Conser and her husband, Larry, Dorothy Barry and her husband, David and Linda Miller and her husband, Jeff all of Meadville, PA; her grandchildren, Jennifer Bartholomew and her husband, Robert of Meadville, PA, Mark Conser and his wife, Jessica of Erie, PA, Sarah Miller of Meadville, PA and Michael Miller and his wife, Sarah of NC; five great grandchildren and one due in February 2025; two great great grandchildren and one due in April 2025; several nieces and nephews and her brother-in-law, Gordon Sprenkle Sr.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ellen Sprenkle and her brother, Wilbur Greathouse.

A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held on Friday February 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Kerrtown Community Center, 18834 Hope St., Meadville, PA 16335.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Kerrtown Community Center.
