Marie Grubbs

Marie (Pond) Grubbs, age 82, of Saegertown, PA passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 10, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 27, 1943, in Greensboro, NC.

Marie married James Pond on February 1, 1963, and was married until his passing August 25, 1990. She later remarried Earl Grubbs on August 31, 1996, until his time of passing on April 1, 2008.

Marie was a 1962 graduate of Southpoint High School, Southpoint OH. She was a bus driver for many years for Clair J. Ferry until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, making flower arrangements and most of all, spending time with her family. She was very family oriented.

Marie is survived by her daughter Melanie Smith of Saegertown, PA., her grandchildren; Shaun Smith, Eryn (Michael) Fries and Rebecca Smith( Bri Morris) , her great-grandchildren; Izabella and Samuel Cornell, Abby and Rebeka Fries and David Smith, one great great-grandson, Alexander Gilchrist, her sister, Rebecca Pond of Saegertown, PA, and brother, Steve ( Sadie) Morrison of Fort Smith, AR.

In addition to her husbands, Marie was preceded in death by a son, Dean Pond, a brother-in-law, Philip Pond and six siblings.

As per Marie’s wishes, there will be no public services.
