Marion Chalmers

Marion "Daisy" "Mamie" Chalmers, age 84, of Conneaut Lake, PA and formerly of Pittsburgh, PA and for the past three years a resident of Juniper Village in Meadville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at UMPC-Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA She was born March 16, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of the late Frank H. Sheets Sr. and Eva M. (Kurst) Sheets. She married Thomas H. Chalmers Sr. on January 26, 1953. He preceded her in death in February of 1976. She attended St. Mary's School in Etna. She was a lifelong babysitter in the Conneaut Lake area. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Catholic Church, Conneaut Lake, PA and a member of the Altar Rosary Society of the church. She was a life member of the Conneaut Lake Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, and a member of the Red Hats Society. She enjoyed reading and was very active spending her time volunteering. She loved the time she spent with her grandchildren. Her smile and laughter will definitely be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by a daughter; Cheryl Chalmers and her husband, Craig Klingler of Harmony, PA, a son; Gregory Chalmers and his wife, Kim of Conneaut Lake, PA, two grandchildren, Jonathon Chalmers of Conneaut Lake, PA and Monica Chalmers and her husband, Jeffrey Thomas of Canonsburg, PA, A sister; Geraldine Kaufman of Cambridge Springs, PA and a brother Charles H. Sheets of Pittsburgh, PA. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank H. Sheets Jr, a sister, Katherine Kratchovila and a son, Thomas H. Chalmers Jr in November 1974 Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the Dickson Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N Second Street, Conneaut Lake, PA. The recital of the Rosary will start at 3:30 PM followed by the Vigil Prayer Service on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Calling hours will also be held on Friday beginning at 10 AM at the Dickson Funeral Home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 155 S Ninth Street, Conneaut Lake, with Father Jeffrey Lucas, as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
