Martha B. Davison Grinnell Bailey, age 92, formerly of Pinetree Road, Meadville, passed away on April 27, 2013 at Rolling Fields Nursing Home, Conneautville. She was born November 14, 1920, in Sandy Creek Township; the daughter of Frank M. and Donna C. (Free) Davison. Martha first married James A. Grinnell on September 14, 1940. James passed December 24, 1968 . Martha subsequently married Wilford A. Bailey on June 12 1976; Wilford passed January 11, 2000. Martha attended the Sheakleyville Schools, and worked at: Dr. Marshall's Hospital, was a nurses' aide at the Crawford County Home, and was a caregiver for Gail Lyndon. She attended the Faith Geneva United Methodist Church; and enjoyed bingo, reading, puzzles, and gardening. Martha was especially fond of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving Martha are: two daughters: Linda J. (James D. )Ball of Geneva and Brenda S. Bailey of Meadville; a son Gordon L. (Ann) Bailey of Columbus, PA. ; eight grandchildren: Yvonne (John) Longstreth, Trent Ball, Valerie (John) Turner, David (Jennifer) Ball, Brian Bailey, Stephen Bailey, John Bailey, Kathy (Russ) Smith, and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving Martha are 2 sisters: Mary L. Thomas of Greenville, and Lillian Ekholm of Jefferson, Ohio, and 1 brother John (Gloria) Davison, of Sheakleyville, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Martha in death were: her parents, her spouses, 2 infant children, 1 sister Edna Pears, 2 brothers- Frank Davison and Harold Davison, 3 sons-Daniel Bailey, Arnold Bailey, Fred Bailey, and 2 grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8, at the Dickson Funeral Home 130 N. Second Street, Conneaut Lake, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 11 AM. The Reverend Christine Rogan, Pastor of the Faith Geneva United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be made in Roselawn. Memorials may be made to the Faith Geneva United Methodist Church or the Hospice of Crawford County.
