Mary K. Griggs

Mary K. Griggs, age 72, of Conneaut Lake, PA, passed away on February 11, 2016 at Marquette Hospice House. She was born December 13, 1943 in Meadville, the daughter of the late Charles Nigh and Katherine (Donahue) Nigh. Mary married Clarence “Skip” Griggs. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2015. She was a graduate of Conneaut Valley High School in 1961 and licensed in cosmetology at Michaels Beauty Academy. She retired from Andover Industries as a supervisor. Mary is a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Catholic Church, Conneaut Lake. Mary enjoyed needlepoint and bowling with family in post leagues. She was an avid card player and scrabble champ on her tablet. She enjoyed playing cards with her family. Surviving Mary are her three daughters, Kristina (Christopher) Griggs-Andrews of Matthews, NC, Heather (Brett) Hawn of Gardnerville, NV, Erin Steiger of Meadville, PA, one son, Stephen (Kimberly) Griggs of Quincy, IL, ten grandchildren; Jaimz Andrews, Jeremy Andrews, Connor Griggs, Katie Pellman, Lauren Cannady, Brandon Hawn, Alexander Hawn, Andrew Hawn, Jaylynne Steiger, Jayce Steiger and one great granddaughter Zoey Andrews, two sisters, Ruth (Tip) Hosack, of Norwalk, OH and Joanne (Robert) Handy, of Conneautville, PA one brother, George Nigh and Shirley of Omaha, NE. Preceding Mary in death were her husband Clarence “Skip” Griggs, her parents Charles Nigh and Katherine Donahue Nigh, her brother James Nigh. Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday from 4 to 6 PM at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 N. Second St., Conneaut Lake.
