Mary A. Smith

Mary A (Glancy) Smith, age 91, of Saegertown, Pa passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born January 10, 1923 in Meadville, PA the daughter of the late Clyde A. and Alice A. Sterling Glancy. She married William L. Smith in l948. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1964. Mary retired from the housekeeping department at the Holiday Inn, where she was employed for many years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and tending to her family. She was known for making her apple pies. She is survived by a son, Jerry R. Smith and his wife, Marge of Orlando, Florida, two daughters, Rose M. Smith of Saegertown, PA and Alice A. Peters and her husband David of Saegertown, PA; five grandchildren; William L. Smith, missing, David W. Peters Jr, and his wife, Janet Peters, Douglas A. Peters and his companion, Lynnette Schreiber, Mary Ann Lilly and Robert A. Henry Jr.; three step-grandchildren, Matt and Jerri and son, Tim, Lisa and Joe and their children, Danielle and Miranda, and Susan and Ted and their children, Megan and Brianna., five great-grandchildren; Jared Wayne Peters, Christy Lilly, Courtney Lilly, Bailey Henry and Darren Henry, and six step-great-grandchildren; Makayla Miller, Chad Miller, Ashley Schreiber and her son, Brycen Schreiber, Britteny Jones, Carrie Jones and Dylan Peters. She is further survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Donald W. Smith, a sister, Doris Bowes, a brother, Roy Glancy and a grandson, Darren W. Peters and by two granddaughters, Melissa Blakeslee and Tammy Kneubel Weavers. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
