Max L. Steiger

Max L. Steiger, 83, of Cochranton, PA passed on April 28, 2018 at Meadville Medical Center.  He was born on June 8, 1934 the son of the late Kenneth Steiger and Emily Geraldine Walton.  He married Jean Gandziarski on May 11, 2017, she survives.             Max worked for several area car dealers as their service manager including Griffin Motors, Lakeside Service, Bob Meaney, Cunningham’s and Lake Dodge.  He also worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Meadville, Cambridge Springs, Corry and Grove City as the head of maintenance.             Max was a fan of NASCAR, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He also enjoyed camping.             In addition to his wife Jean, Max is survived by five children and one step-son; Max Steiger, Jr. of San Antonio, TX; Carrie Steiger of Irvine, PA; Ann Steiger-Mobley and her husband Jim of Brandon, FL; Jay Steiger and his wife Cheryl of Meadville, PA; Heidi Steiger of Meadville and Robbie Mumford and his wife Nicole of Greenville, PA.  He is further survived by eight grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 3 great, great-grandchildren, a sister, Cheryl Miller and her husband Charles of Saegertown, PA, his special friend Mike Hallas of Tidioute, PA and his dog, Dolly.             Max was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Holly Steiger, a grandson, Frank A.
