Maxine Walton

Maxine Walton, age 93, of Meadville, PA passed away on May 10, 2021.  She was born on June 18, 1927 in Meadville, PA to the late Lloyd Peelman and Pauline (Peterson) Peelman.  She married Richard Walton on June 10, 1945.  He preceded her in death on July 7, 2011.

Maxine graduated from beauty school and owned and operated Walton’s Beauty Shop with her husband for 50 years.  She took continuing education courses at Lock Haven College.  She loved hair competitions and she won 1 ^st place at the state level.  She was the District Trustee of PA Hairdressing Association.  She also loved to dance and bowl.  She was a great cook and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was a former member of the Women’s Club and Bible Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise Hornstrom and her husband, Robert of Meadville, PA and Cathy Hart and her husband, Tom of CA; a son-in-law, Joseph Free;  grandchildren, Amber Kimple, Diane, Trina and Tommy Hart and Sonya Free; 15 great grandchildren; and nieces, Judy Shumaker, Nancy and Debbie.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; her daughters, Sally Free and Rebecca Walton; her infant son, Richard Walton and a Grandson Joseph Free.

There will be no services.  Maxine will be buried next to her husband in Evergreen Cemetery.
