Mike Ender, of Cambridge Springs and formerly of Venango, started his eternity in heaven on March 30, 2017. He was at home with family and friends surrounding him in love. He was born on December 8, 1948, to Mike and Pearl (Woodcock) Ender. Mike was raised in the Titusville area, and attended Townville Schools. Mike would tell you he was a wild card in his younger years, in and out of jobs, homes, marriages, and even jail. He never claimed to be a perfect person, or pretend to be something he wasn’t. Mike worked various odd jobs such as washing dishes, driving truck, working carnivals, and being a door bouncer. In 1993, he reconciled with Kathy Thornton the mother of his youngest child, Jackie. He stayed clean, sober, and out of trouble from then on. He was a very friendly guy, always with a smile and a “howdy howdy.” Settling down in Venango, he became a true family man, being a HUGE part of his grandson’s lives. He taught them to love fishing, Johnny Cash, and classic cars. Teaching his daughter that change really is possible, as he was a great example. Mike loved to fish and listen to live bands. Mike leaves behind many brokenhearted people who loved him, including his fiancée of 24 years Kathy Thornton of Cambridge Springs, his daughter: Jackie Cottrell and her husband Jason, two grandsons: Joseph and Joshua English all of Cambridge Springs, two brother: William Ender and his wife Kathy of Pleasantville, David Ender of Titusville, one sister: Lois Burrows of Titusville. He very much loved his nieces: Autumn Miller of Oil City and Julie Bates of Pleasantville, and his nephews: Bobby Burrows (Jamie) of North Carolina, Chris Burrows (Eileen) of TX, Joe Burrows (Kari) of Titusville, and Jon Burrows (Amanda) of Oil City. Mike is also survived by three sons, and a daughter who are estranged, but were loved and thought of often. Mike is preceded in death by his parents and three sister-in-laws: Madeline Ender, Diana Smith, and Carole Worthem. Per Mike’s wishes there will be no calling hours or viewing. There will be a Celebration of Life memorial picnic, with fishing, on June 24, 2017 at Edinboro Lake, Lakeside Drive Pavilion, Edinboro, PA 16412 Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
