Michael Garrity

March 24, 1958 — January 17, 2025

Michael P. Garrity, 66, of Saegertown, passed away Friday January 17, 2025 peacefully at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, PA after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Glendale, CA on March 24, 1958, a son of William and Verna (Davidovich) Garrity.  Mike attended Saegertown schools. He previously worked as a welder for Trinity Industries in Greenville until their closing and he then worked as a self-employed mason and carpenter and was an extremely talented artist who loved life. He was a member of the North Meadville Church of Christ in Meadville, PA.

Mike was known for his endless generosity, kindness and grace. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and working outside.  He would often be found engaging in his true passion of collecting and firing guns. He also held a special place in his heart for his feline friends. But most of all his family and friends were a major part of his life and meant the world to him.

He is survived by his mother, Verna Garrity of Meadville, PA;  one sister, Nadene Garrity of Erie, PA;  one brother, Gene Garrity of San Diego, CA; two step daughters who he raised as his own,  Cheryl Huson (Phillips) and her husband, Joshua of Glassport, PA and Kimberly Conley (Phillips) and her husband, Dalton of Conneaut Lake, PA;  six step-grandchildren, Brooke, Alexis, Oliver, Colton, Archibald and Bella and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Garrity and his brother, John Garrity.

Cremation was chosen and there will be no visitation.  A service to celebrate Mike's life will be held at a later date and details will be shared with family and friends.

The family would like to thank all of Mike's friends that sent well wishes, cards, prayers and comfort during the past several months he was hospitalized and to all of the nurses and doctors at West Penn Hospital and Forbes Hospital for the outstanding care they provided him during this time.
