Michael Kent Heiser Sr., age 79, of Meadville, PA (formerly of Beaver County) passed away on Sunday January 14, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family and his dogs. He was born on September 14, 1944 in Beaver Falls, PA to the late David Charles Heiser and Mildred Carmen Smith. He married Barbara Kay Yard on July 10, 1965. She preceded him in death on February 17, 2014.
Michael graduated from Beaver Falls High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgy Engineering from Penn State. He was employed at St. Joseph Lead Company and Ohio Edison. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Center Township. Michael coached track and field for over 25 years at Center (now Central Valley), South Fayette and Meadville High Schools. He founded the Beaver County Track Club. In his many years of coaching, he influenced many young athletes in PA, including multiple state champions.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Amy L. Lynn and her husband, James of Meadville, PA and his son, Michael Heiser Jr. and his wife, Kristen of LaPlata, MD and his five grandchildren, Corey Lynn, Jordan Lynn and her fiancé, Matthew Izbinski, Kylie Burns, Cayden Burns and Brooks Heiser. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David Heiser and Patrick Smith.
A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
