Michael E. Kennedy of Tavares, FL and formerly of Blooming Valley, PA passed away on Sunday, February 16th at Cornerstone Hospice in Tavares after a courageous battle with cancer. Mike was born on February 26, 1957 to Robert P. and Beverly J. (Bidwell) Kennedy in Meadville, PA. He married Susan Hughes on September 17, 1977. Mike was a 1975 graduate of Saegertown High School and Crawford County Vo-Tech School. Upon graduation Mike joined the Marine Corp where he was stationed at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. After his discharge, he returned to Blooming Valley and worked as an auto mechanic. In 1986, Mike and his family moved to Florida where he worked in the Citrus Industry. Due to his illness, he retired from Florida's Natural Growers in September 2012, where he was a Logistics Foreman. Mike was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed working outside in his yard. He is survived by his wife, Susan; his daughter, Melinda J (CJ) Cole; his granddaughter, Adrian M.; his mother, Beverly; and his brother-in-law, Tim Hughes and his sons of North Carolina. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased in death by his father, Robert; his sister, Michele; his father and mother-in law, Richard and Helen Hughes; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
