Mifflin Kip Shongo

February 22, 1926 — August 13, 2009

Kip attended school on the Allegheny Indian Reservation. He married Beatrice Wentworth on January 4, 1947; she survives. He retired from the Erie Railroad after 44 1/2 years. He was also a Supervisor of The Brotherhood of Maintenance & Way. He served in the US Army during WWII. He belonged to Saint John's United Church of Christ in Union Township. He was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, Bear Clan. He was a member of F&AM #234, a Shriner, and belonged to the Eagles and American Legion in Meadville. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; gardening with his wife and spending time with his family.
