Mildred Truppi, Mama Truppi to family and Millie to her friends, age 93 of Meadville died Wednesday November 9, 2016 of natural causes at Crawford County Care Center. Mildred was born July 10, 1923 in Bronx, New York to Guidetta and Antonio DiTore. Mildred was united in Holy Matrimony to Joseph Anthony Truppi on September 15, 1946. They lived in the Bronx until they moved to Hillsdale, New Jersey in 1954, where they raised three sons and one daughter. They moved to Meadville in 1971 where she earned her GED to work at Bainbridge Kauffman Realty for years, later worked as a tailor at Weldon's. She loved to sew, especially on her ancient sewing machine that was older than she. She took up golf along with her husband, loved to swim and bowl until this past year. She volunteered at the Coffee Shop at Meadville Medical Center, also volunteered at Wesbury, up until early this year. Because she was generous with her time, spirit, and commitment to the community, she was loved by many. Mildred was a member of St. Brigid's Roman Catholic Church of Meadville, and its Altar and Rosary Service in Meadville. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Truppi on August 25, 2000 and her Granddaughter Jessica Truppi Webster on August 4, 2012. Also preceding her in death were two sisters Michelina and Jean Filomio, Survivors include her daughter Judy Hull and husband Tim of McCall, Idaho, three sons, George Truppi and wife Jan Two Bears of Kamiah, Idaho, Gerald Truppi and wife LuAnne of Kyle, Texas, Joseph Truppi and wife Lisa of Reno, Nevada. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; Jennifer Vinci, Jeremy Truppi, Jamie Truppi, Jaclyn Truppi, Jason Truppi, Jenna Kisler, Stefanie Truppi Stevens, Joseph Truppi, Aicha Hull, Valerie Armichardy , Ramona Beyuka, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters; Gloria Truppi of Hillsdale, NJ and Thomasina Virgadamo of Deacon, NY. Mildred was proud of her Italian heritage and loved to cook her famous Italian recipes (which have been passed on for generations to come). Mildred loved America, the people of Meadville, and her family (especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren). She will be missed by her family and friends, her life will be cherished and celebrated as she is now at home with the Lord. Calling hours will be from 2pm to 4 pm and 6pm to 8pm Thursday November 17, 2016 at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, November 18th at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch Street, Meadville, with Father Jonathan Schmolt as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, New York where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Joseph Anthony. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions to be made to the Center for Family Services, 213 Center Street, Meadville, PA. 16335 or to St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
