Mona M. Hughes

Mona M. Hughes, age 77 of Meadville, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Meadville Medical Center.              She was born August 6, 1940 in Brookville, PA., the daughter of the late Robert Wayne Smith and Tesse Keller Smith.  She married Arthur C. Hughes on November 16, 1969.  He survives.             She retired from the housekeeping department at Meadville Medical Center.  She was a member of the VFW Post 2006, Meadville, and enjoyed going to flea markets.             She is survived by her husband, Arthur C. Hughes, Meadville, her son Brian Hughes, Floral City, FL, two grandchildren: Haley Hughes, Pittsburgh, and Jennifer Washburn, Meadville, her great granddaughter: Cerenity Washburn, Meadville, three sisters: Elaine Felton (Clarence), Springboro, Carolyn Rhodes (Clem) Brookville, and Barbara Smith, Brookville, and many nieces and nephews.             In addition to her parents, Mona was preceded in death by a daughter, Katrina Smith, a brother, Richard Smith and a sister, Caroline Boozer.             Family and friends are welcome to call on Saturday, from 1 PM until time of the funeral service at 3 PM at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, with Pastor Bill Wisniewski, officiating.
