Nancy C. Whitmore, 84 of Harmonsburg Road, Meadville, passed away on Thursday November 27, 2014 at Wesbury United Methodist Community. She was born on September 21, 1930, in Sharon, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Robert and Frances Reagle Kear. She married Frank H. Whitmore on January 13, 1951. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2013. She was a1948 graduate of the Hartford High School in Hartford, Ohio. She retired as a caseworker with the Pennsylvania State Public Welfare System. Nancy was very active in the Watson Run Presbyterian Church and had served as an Elder. She was also a member of the North Shore Boat Club in Linesville, PA, the Meadville Community Theatre, the Lady's Red Hat Group, and a former member o f the Tappin Tooties. She had co-wrote the Musical, "We're Movin on" which was played at the Academy Theatre. She enjoyed painting, playing cards, and games of any sort, and listening to music. She is survived by a son, Jerry Whitmore of Meadville, PA ; a daughter Janet Petts and her husband, Louis of Cochranton, PA; a granddaughter, Sadie; a grandson, Eli and his wife, Katie; two great-grandchildren, Clayton and Cerese, two sisters; Joanne David and Dorothy Patton both of Arizona, and a brother, Gordan Kear of Pittsburgh, PA. She is further survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Nancy was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kear and a sister, Geraldine Collins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 2 PM, with the Rev. Frank Duncan, officiating.
