Neal M. Schrock

Neal M. Shrock, age 86, of Atlantic, PA passed away on Tuesday morning Dec. 30, 2014 at his residence. Neal was born in Nappanee, Indiana on Aug. 4, 1928, a son of the late Monroe D. Shrock and Mary Ann Hochstetler. He married Ella M. Byler on January 5, 1951. She survives. He was educated for 8 years in a single room schoolhouse. He attended Fallowfield United Methodist Church. He was employed as a Carpenter with Hochstetler Construction, Greenville Tubes, Meadville Forge, then for over 25 years, He was the owner of Shrock Associates until his retirement. It was a great joy to work with his son John and later turn the management over to him. While working with him they built and remodeled many homes in the area. They were known for their fine craftsmanship and attention to detail. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Ella Shrock of Atlantic, six daughters: Mary Ellen Emley (Kent) of Okeechobee, FL, Laura Moen (Don) of Nashville, TN, Susan Phelps (Craig) Elk City, OK, Rachel Ransbarger (David) of Albuquerque, NM, Ruth Workman of Bossier City, LA, Esther Harrison (John) of Hartstown, PA, a daughter-in-law: Susy Shrock, Conneaut Lake, PA, a brother; Alvin Shrock, of New York, 21 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Neal was preceded in death: son John, grandson Jeremy Phelps, two sisters: Barbara Byler, Fannie Detweiler, and six brothers: Dan, Eli, Joe, Monroe, Harvey, Henry. Family and friends are welcome to call from 6 to 8pm on Friday, Jan. 2nd and from 10 AM until time of service at 11AM at on Saturday Jan. 3, 2014 all at the Fallowfield United Methodist Church, 3993 Leech Road, Atlantic, PA.
