Nicole Kuhta

Nicole M. Kuhta, 23, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday,January 31, 2017. A bright and talented student, Nicole graduated from Meadville Area High School and went on to receive a dual degree from the California University of Pennsylvania with honors.  She was a passionate social worker and cared deeply about helping those most in need. Nicole was a creative spirit and had many interests including writing and performing music, gardening, and expressing herself through art. She was a founding member of Crammer Girls Roller Derby in Hermitage and also skated with WestCo Derby in Westmoreland County. She loved animals and grew up in the 4H dairy program.  Most recently she was devoted to caring for her two beloved rescue guinea pigs. Nicole is survived by her mother and stepfather, Terri and Jack Rodgers, a sister, Melissa McCracken and her husband Michael, a niece and nephew Natalie and William McCracken, grandmother and grandfather Oleta “Sue” and Larry Farmer, grandmother Helen Hughes, stepmother Joyce Butterfield, and many close aunts, uncles and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Kuhta.  Nikki will be profoundly missed but forever remembered with hearts full of love.             A memorial service will be open to all who wish to attend, held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Meadville on Saturday, February 11th at 1:00 P.M. with an open reception to follow in the Parish House.  Please consider honoring Nikki's memory by making a donation to Women's Services of Meadville or the Unitarian Universalist Church of Meadville.   Please sign Nicole’s online guestbook at hatheway-tedesco.com     Arrangements have been entrusted to the HATHEWAY-TEDESCO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
