Norma Jean Minnis, age 89, formerly of Linesville and Meadville, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Rolling Fields Nursing Home. She was born April 5, 1927 in Meadville, PA the daughter of the late James Schreck and Lima Sherrod Schreck. She married Robert W. Minnis on July 19, 1947. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2005. Norma retired from Talon Inc. in Meadville. She was of the Protestant Faith. Norma was a Life Member of the VFW Auxiliary in Meadville and transferred her Life Membership to the VFW Auxiliary in Linesville. She enjoyed reading, camping and especially enjoyed spending time around the camp fire with her family. Norma is survived by three sons: Richard W. Minnis and his wife Joyce of Conneaut Lake, James K. Minnis and his wife Carolynne of Paso Robles, CA, Stephen D. Minnis and his wife Roseann of Linesville, three daughters: Anita Becker and her husband Richard of Ellicottville, NY, Bonnie Edwards and her husband James of Mill Hall, PA, and Cynthia Splitstone and her husband Don of Linesville, PA, twelve grandchildren: Richard W. Minnis Jr. and his wife Michelle of The Woodlands, TX, Aubrey Minnis and her husband Domnick DiRienzo of Meadville, Kenneth J. Minnis of Paso Robles, CA, June Yardley and her husband Bill of Paso Robles, CA, Michelle Elnyczky and her husband Bill of Pittsburgh, PA, Stephanie McKay and her husband Shawn of Ohio, Richard Becker Jr. and his wife Kelli of Buffalo, New York, Danielle Becker of Lackawanna, NY, Adam Feleppa of Mill Hall, PA, Aaron Edwards and his wife Ashlee of Mill Hall, PA, Eric Edwards of Mill Hall, PA and Jessica Sheckler of Pittsburgh, PA, numerous great-grandchildren, a brother: Albert Schreck of Meadville, PA. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Norma was preceded in death by an infant son: Thomas Minnis, three grandsons: Robert Splitstone, Michael Minnis and an infant grandson, two sisters: Ruth Murray and Annie Reasbeck and two brothers: James Schreck and Billy Schreck. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
