Pearl Saul

Pearl VaRee Cocolin Saul, 92, passed away on July 10, 2023.  Born in Meadville on October 30, 1930, she was the daughter of Carl and Alice (Henry) Brown. On September 28, 1977, she married her beloved husband, Donald A. Saul; he preceded her in death on January 7, 2022.

After graduating from Meadville High School in 1948, she devoted most of her life to being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.  Along with her husband, she was employed by Talon, Inc., and in 1993, they moved with the company to Charlotte, NC.  After making wonderful friends participating in square dancing, bowling, and playing cards, they returned to Meadville in 2012 to be close to family.  Pearl loved playing 500, Dominoes, and Hand and Foot; Uno and Phase 10 were family favorites. Pearl was also an excellent seamstress, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and watching crime/mystery programs.  She was a long-time member of Emmanuel Community Church and served as Church Secretary.

She is survived by her three children: LuAnn Schroeder (Howard) of Meadville, Pamela Paglia (James Cherrette) of Simi Valley, CA, and Stephen Cocolin (Barb) of Conneaut Lake; three stepchildren: Donald Saul of Lacey, WA; Janet Stobbe (Paul) of Cary, NC, and Marcy Klutchka (Mark) of Harleysville, PA; twelve grandchildren: Anne Pietropaoli, Alex Cocolin, Alaina Koltash, Diane Marks; Andrew, Aaron, and Ben Stobbe, Amy Wingfield, Brianna Hardison, Steven and Lauren Klutchka, and Paige Shannon, eight great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces: Doug Kim-Brown, Tom Brown, Kathleen Alken, and Cathy Lang.

In addition to her parents and husband, Pearl was preceded in death by her brothers: Carl (Lew) Brown and R. Duane Brown.

Per their wishes, a memorial service for Pearl and Don will be held at a later date. Condolences to the family may be made to the funeral home.
