Richard Allen

Richard “Dick” Lee Allen, age 82, of Meadville, PA passed away Friday December 31, 2021.  He was born on November 14, 1939 in Erie, PA to the late Frank and Genevieve (Proudfoot) Allen.

Dick graduated from Meadville High School in 1965. He served in the United States Army from November 1965-October 1968. He owned Dick Allen’s General Auto Repair and had started other businesses over the years (Tool City Auto) and helped many friends start businesses of their own.    He was a member of Northwest Street Rods.  He enjoyed building street rods, going to flea markets, auctions, salvage yards and swap meets.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Grundy and her husband, Thomas Jr. of Saegertown, PA and his son, Jeffrey Allen of Erie, PA; two grandsons, Joseph and Jonathan and Kevin Wright and his wife, Susan and their family, whom he thought of as his son.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday January 6, 2022 from 3-5 pm at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335.  Service will take place at the funeral home at 5:00 pm with Pastor Cliff Forbes officiating.  Dick will be laid to rest at Greendale Cemetery.   Masks will be mandatory.
