Richard L. Eakin, age 76, of Cambridge Springs, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at UPMC-Hamot, Erie. He was born August 4, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of the late Ralph Eakin and Dollie Locke Eakin. He married Evelyn Gow on February 22, 1964. She survives. Dick retired as a Lineman with the Northwestern Rural Electric Cooperative, Cambridge Springs. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cambridge Springs. He enjoyed Racing, attending his grandchildren’s ballgames and raising the beef cows. Dick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn L. Eakin of Cambridge Springs, two sons: Ralph Eakin and his wife Connie of Venango, and Ronald Eakin of Cambridge Springs, five grandchildren: Eric Eakin and his wife Kellie of Venango, Jennifer Wachowiak and her husband Nick of Cambridge Springs, Reese Eakin of Cambridge Springs, Rhianna Eakin of Cambridge Springs, and Riley Stenehjem of San Diego, CA, three great-grandchildren: Levi Eakin, Trent Wachowiak and Lucy Eakin, his sister: Carol Ervin and her husband Dr. Joseph Ervin of Harrisonburg, VA, his sister-in-law: Esther Closky and her husband Donald of Cambridge Springs. He is further survived by nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11AM until 12PM, with a private service to follow, at the First United Methodist Church, 326 S. Main Street, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403. The memorial service will be private and officiated by Rev. Joseph Samalenge, of the church. Memorials can be made to the Yolanda G.
