Richard D. Kerfoot

Richard D. Kerfoot , 96, formerly of Meadville, and now of Enon Valley, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Heritage Valley Medical Center, Beaver. He was born on April 19, 1916 in Grindstone; a son of William Lee Kerfoot and Florence Hannah Pizzano Kerfoot. He married Emma Gene (Dorothy) Buttermore on July 26, 1943; she preceded him in death on May 4, 2001. Richard was a graduate of Redstone High School and attended a technical school. He was a design engineer at Talon for 23 years. Richard was a veteran of the US Army, having served in World War II. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include a daughter Lynn Altenburg of Jamestown, NY; a son Scott Kerfoot and his wife Kathy of Enon Valley, four grandchildren- Kyra Kerfoot, Taryn Kerfoot, Ruben Mascitti, and Richard Mascitti; four great-grandchildren; two brothers Bernard Kerfoot and his wife Sally of Cleveland, OH; and Jack Kerfoot and his wife Hilda of Doe Run, MO. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son Timothy Kerfoot, and several siblings. Arrangements are private and at the convenience of the family.
