Richard Pastorius

Richard M. Pastorius, age 89, of Conneaut Lake, PA formerly of Brentwood, PA passed away quietly at home on Sunday December 18, 2022 with his wife by his side.  He was born on November 17, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Michael and Catherine (McGrath) Pastorius.  He married Nancy Mathews on October 27, 1990.  She survives.

Dick attended Carrick High School.  After high school he had worked in the electrical field for a short time but chose to work in the real estate field where he eventually worked up to owning his own firm, Dick Pastorius Realty of Brentwood, PA.  30 years ago he moved to Conneaut Lake where he eventually got back in real estate sales. He was proud of his Irish heritage and celebrated wholeheartedly every St. Patrick’s Day.

In Pittsburgh, his favorite hangouts were Dante’s in Whitehall and the Pointview Hotel in Brentwood. He was a social member of the Conneaut Lake Park VFD and Vernon Central Hose Company.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his weekly golf with his friends. He also enjoyed his wine and considered himself a “wine connoisseur.”

In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his five children, Randy Pastorius and his wife, Kathy of Ridgewood, NJ, Sandy Prekop and her husband, Joe of Las Vegas, NV, Sue Ellen Pastorius of Lady Lake, FL, Kenneth Pastorius of Beverly Hills, FL and Danny Pastorius and his wife, Elizabeth of Hendersonville, NC; his grandchildren, Matt Pastorius and his wife, Milena, Missy Pastorius, Ben Pastorius, Carrie Pastorius, Richard Prekop, Bevalina Prekop and Christian Barber, his wife Kali and great grandson Cason; his sister, Ruth O’Brien of Southpoint, PA and his brother, Robert Pastorius of Bethel Park, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday December 27, 2022 from 3-7 pm at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 N. 2 ^nd St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.  Wednesday December 28, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Readshaw Funeral Home, 1503 Brownsville Rd. #3971, Pittsburgh, PA 15210.  Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday December 29, 2022 at 10:30 am at Saint Basil Church of the Blessed Trinity Parish, 1735 Brownsville Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15210 with Father Robert Ahlin officiating.  Dick will be buried with his family in the McGrath plot at St. George’s Cemetery.
