Richard L. Spindler, age 85, of Cochranton, PA passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on Friday April 25, 2025. He was born on December 15, 1939 in Franklin, PA to the late Robert and Myrl (Oliphant) Spindler. He married Martha Kirk on August 27, 1966. She survives.
Richard graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1960. He served in the US Army from 1960-1963. He then worked at Chicago Pneumatic Tool in Franklin, PA for 15 years and then worked as a Quality Control Inspector for Ameridrives until his retirement.
Richard was a member of St Peter Cathedral in Erie, PA. He played the organ at Our Lady of Lords in Cochranton, PA for 18 years. Richard and Martha loved to travel. They traveled the world together and wintered in Myrtle Beach, SC. He also loved bicycling in both the U.S. and Canada.
In addition to his beloved wife of 58 years, Martha, he is survived by his son, Scott Spindler and his wife, Lisa of Mars, PA and his daughter Janine Kurt and her husband, Steve of Meadville, PA and his grandchildren, Lauren Spindler, Kaitlyn Crawford and Alexander Crawford and his fiancé, Rebekah.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Donald Spindler and Robert Spindler.
A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday April 30, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Peter Cathedral, 230 W 10th St., Erie, PA 16501.
