Richard F Unger

Richard F. Unger, 80, of Harmonsburg, PA, passed away at his residence September 15, 2018.  He was born December 1, 1937 to the late Frank and Margaret (Perry) Unger.  He married Cathy Getz on June 25, 1977.  She survives. Dick was a Conneaut Lake High school graduate. He went on to work at Heatrex until his retirement.  He was a member of the Linesville VFW, Linesville Legion, Pymatuning Sportsman’s Club, Pumphouse 45 and Conneaut Lake Park Fire Hall. Dick loved gardening and watching sports. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed canning and making sauerkraut with his friends. In addition to his wife Cathy, of 41 years, Dick is survived by three sons, Mark Unger of Meadville, PA, Troy (Carolyn) Unger of Cochranton, PA, and Jason Unger of Harmonsburg, PA; three daughters, Tracey (Roger) Roush of Erie, PA, Marlene (Mike) Shorey of Morresville, NC, and Amy Bernonski (companion Greg  Pacansky) of East Springfield,PA; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Unger of Adamsville, PA and Charles(Neil) (Karen) Unger of Conneaut Lake, PA and his brother –in-law and sister-in-law, Brandon and Cheryl Howard of Conneaut Lake, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, William R. and Lois L. Getz and his sister, Carol Hall.  There will be no public services.  The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice and Summit Township Ambulance for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Summit Township Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Service, 10870 Plum St. Harmonsburg, PA 16422.
