Rita Douglass

Rita Douglass, age 78, of Meadville, PA passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday January 8, 2024.  She was born on May 23, 1945 in Meadville, PA to the late Rex and Ruth (Pfeifer) Birchard.  She married Thomas Douglass on November 28, 1970.  He survives.

Rita worked in billing at Talon and then worked as a cashier at Valu Home Center.  She was a member of St. Brigid’s Catholic Church.

In addition to her loving husband of 53 years, Rita is survived by her children, Amy Douglass of Holly Springs, NC and Aaron Douglass of Meadville, PA; her grandson, Brandon Vance of Holly Springs, NC; one sister, Ellen McKissock of Sebring, FL; one brother, Carl Birchard and his wife, Dean of State College, PA and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call  on Saturday February 3, 2024 from 9-11 am with a memorial service taking place at 11:00 am at  Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335 with Father Kyle Seyler officiating.
