Rita L. Walp

Rita Lianne Walp, age 88, of Meadville, PA passed away on March 2, 2023 at her home.  She was born on May 27, 1934 in Saegertown, PA to the late Frank G. and Alma (Shorts) Mason.    She married Donald Walp.  He preceded her in death on April 25, 1982.

Rita retired as a Coordinator for the Meadville Red Cross.  She enjoyed homemaking, decorating her home and playing with her grandchildren.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Melissa A. Rossi of Erie, PA; 4 grandchildren, Lisa Rossi and her significant other, Fred Cozzens and Eric Rossi all of Erie, PA and Rhiannon Walp and her husband, Stephen Dunlap and Brian Walp all of Meadville, PA; 3 great grandchildren, Alexa Rossi of Erie, PA, Trinity Brenizer and Adam Brenizer of Meadville, PA; 1 brother, Clifford Mason of Corry, PA and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three children, Michael, Chris and Timothy Walp and her sister, Marlene Robertson.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial mass on Tuesday March 14, 2023 at 11:00 am at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church-St. Brigid 383 Arch St., Meadville, PA 16335 with Father Lucas officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
