Robert "Buck" Allen Jr.

Robert (Buck) K. Allen Jr., age 82, of Vernon Township passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 23, 2023. He was born on December 10, 1940 in Meadville, PA to the late Margaret (Sproul) and Robert K. Allen Sr. He married Bonita (Bonnie) Foust on August 6, 1966. She survives.

Buck was a 1958 graduate of Meadville High School. He then completed his journeyman tool and die apprenticeship at Talon in 1966. He worked at various tool shops in the area until his retirement from Pennco in 2004. He was of the Protestant faith.

Buck was a lifetime member of Vernon Central Hose Company and a member of the American Legion Post #111. He enjoyed spending time with his family, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles and hunting, fishing and canoeing with his best friend, Jimmy Kull. He was very proud of his children and he was proud to be an American.

In addition to his wife of 56 years, Bonnie, he is survived by his daughter, Brandi Allen and her husband, Trampas Knapp of Smyrna, TN and his son, Jeremy Allen of Meadville, PA and his grandson, Tanner Allen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Allen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 6, 2023 at 2 pm at American Legion Post #111, 17137 Cussewago Rd., Meadville, PA 16335. All are welcome to come share stories and memories.
